I have had four ferrets who lived until they were older than the normal ferret life span, which is 8 to 10 years. The oldest ferret, an albino, was 14 years old, when she finally died of old age. I had to put the last one to sleep in June 2000. We had three ferrets; "Zack" , "Munchkin" and the newest addition was "Sadie". Sadie was originally a lab ferret, and had a wonderful life here with us. Unfortunately on May 9th 2004 Sadie had succumbed to her insulinoma. She will be sadly missed. Sad news has struck our family again, on September 30th, our Ferret Zack had to be put to sleep, due to a tumor , and insulinoma. On November 12th, 2004 Munchkin died here at home of old age. They will all be sadly missed. All 3 were great companions and friends.
We had a 17 year old black cat named "Zorro" . On October 25th 2004 we had the toughest decision to put our baby "Zorro" to sleep. His thyroid condition had worsen, he had to be on medication to stimulate his appetite. Even at the end neither medication was helping, and he was ready to go. He was my "Best Friend" for the last 16 years. I will really miss him. We had a Rotty / Shepherd cross "Abby" who had been abused in Florida, and had a great home here in Avon, MA. On February 02, 2009, we had to put our beloved Abby to sleep. She was unable to keep any food, including baby food down. She had been sick for a while. Instead of having her poked and probed further we decided not to make her suffer. Abby's Loyalty will be greatly missed.
We had adopted 3 cats to our family. Marty was adopted on 12-02-04, from the Taunton Animal Shelter. He was left behind in an apartment for a while. The Taunton Animal Shelter took excellent care of him. On November 25, 2009 Marty suddenly passed away, due to his heart murmor. It was the biggest shock EVER! On 12-09-04, I adopted another cat from the MSPCA, what a sweet heart. I changed the name that they gave her at the shelter to now Kahlua. On 01-08-05, I adopted Conway from the Taunton Animal Shelter. Conway was one of Marty's roommates at the shelter. We had adopted a ferret from the South Shore Ferret Rescue! Krecher was an awesome ferret. He loved to play hide & seek with all the cat toys, and any thing else he can carry and put under the couch! On November 27, 2009 he had to be put down, due to a HUGE mass on his spleen. Another Huge Loss! Very tough year for us personally. Good News everyone, we adopted a Kitten "Zeus" From Hilltop Humane Society of Randolph, MA. He has been a constant joy with his kitten antics! He loves his big brother Conway too! We have adopted the newest member of the Family Rusty form Hilltop Humane Society! He was in Foster care, and had several play dates with Zeus, and they became inseparable. They are constantly playing with each other, rough housing or chasing each other all through the house. All four cats favorite past time is watching chipmunks and the birds at the bird feeders.

I have worked at both the MSPCA and Animal Rescue League of Boston. I have worked for my Veterinarian at the Brockton Animal Hospital. I have worked for a private kennel, and have volunteered at Foster Parrots, a parrot rescue and sanctuary. See web page www.fosterparrots.com. I am an active volunteer at Hilltop Humane Society, a no kill cat shelter. I also assist in the trapping, spay/neuter return program. See web page www.hilltophumane.org .
I decided to give up a career as a paralegal to do something that I passionately love and that is working with animals. I find being with animals is so fulfilling, and I really enjoy going to work everyday.
